The idea of leadership connotes images of influential individuals mastering great power requiring teams pursuing magnificent cause. The role of the follower, on the other hand, has typically received much less concern. However, in reality, without followers, leaders would cease to exist. What is fellowship? It can be considered as a willingness to cooperate in working towards the accomplishment of the group s mission, to demonstrate a high degree of teamwork and to build cohesion within relationships of authority. Effective followership is an excellent tool for managing your career and is a key building block towards effective leadership. When it comes to the characteristics of leadership, what is of vital importance is that the effective followers think much for themselves. Compared to the leadership phenomenon, the role of leader assumes a certain level of responsibility in order to achieve success.
